Freundschaft on the Ceiling
Back to the '80s for a minute here's "Living on the Ceiling" - bit of a pop hit this one but it was also a dance floor anthem at the limit club in Sheffield on a Monday night next to all kinds of other magic stuff from Cabaret Voltaire to Grace Jones. Never ever saw the video at the time and it's hardly what I would call good - more a flipping great idea for a band signed to a major - get the f**kers to pay for a holiday in Morocco !! LOL.
And I always, always loved the title. I like the idea of living on the ceiling - sometimes life is just like that.
And as an antidote to the sacarine like rush here's a band I seriously never get bored of from the same early 80s period - much darker and undoubtedly definitively brilliant - DAF (Deutsch Amerikanische Freundschaft) with "Der Raeuber und der Prinz"
